My Story

I am a criminal barrister appearing in courts throughout the UK.

I boxed as a teenager and had a few amateur bouts for Aston Villa ABA - many of which ended in towel throwing defeat! Boxing clubs foster camaraderie and help to build close life-long friendships.   I understand the wellbeing and confidence that boxing brings to young people.  It gives them the oportunity to positively channel their energies.   I am competing in London on 5 April 2019 for the Charity - Fight 4 Change.  I thank the UK boxer Cheavon Clarke for introducing me to this important charity.

Young people growing up in disadvantaged communities face huge challenges. They  struggle to deal with social issues such as drugs, unemployment, family breakdown, poverty  and crime. This can leave them feeling frustrated, angry and powerless. Fight 4 Change works to empower young people to raise their aspirations and helps them to transform their lives for the better. It's an awesome charity that works with some of the most deprived young people in the UK. It  uses boxing and other sports to provide a safe space and escape from the sometimes harsh reality of street life. Fight 4 Change gives youngsters a sense of pride and belonging. I have trained at the centre's boxing facility. It is most impressive. These young people, no less than others,  deserve to feel that their lives have purpose and meaning.  Their lives matter. With the support of Fight 4 Change they can gain accreditations, employment opportunities ... and HOPE! Fight 4 Change helps them to have ambitions and achieve them.  Thank you for doing your bit to make a difference to their precious lives.
